Rainy Season

With the rainy season here, Old Hope Sschool has been badly flooded again. For students’ safety, all classes are suspended and students are to remain at home until further notice.

A New Learning Centre

We are delighted to celebrate the opening of a new learning centre in Sihanouk village. This centre gives children in the community a safe and welcoming place to learn, develop their skills, and grow in confidence. It will provide new opportunities for education and help children build a brighter future for themselves and their village.

Meals for Sen Chay Government School

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” but a nourishing meal each week helps keep hunger away for students at Sen Chay Government School. Through Allan’s generous donation, students at Sen Chay School and two other government schools were able to enjoy a decent and fulfilling meal. For many of these children, this regular meal is an important source of nourishment. The meal may be simple, but its impact is significant. We are deeply grateful to Allan and his generosity is making a meaningful difference in the health and education of children in these communities.

Meals for Hope Schools

Thanks to Allan’s continued donations, nutritious meals can be provided to students at all Hope Schools. Although these meals are simple and not a luxury, they are filling and provide the nourishment children need to stay healthy. Allan’s generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many students and supports their education and well-being.

Activities at Hope Schools

Our teachers are regularly supported through Foo Yong Kwong’s monthly contributions. This generous support helps us support part of our teachers monthly salary. Despite their salary not matching those offered in the education sector, the teachers make many personal sacrifices to educate, encourage, and guide the children in our schools. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Foo Yong Kwong for this faithful support.

Teacher Sophea has always been innovative in managing New Hope School. At times, she plans games instead of conducting a regular lesson, making learning enjoyable and encouraging students to look forward to coming to school.

Celebration!!!

We started the year with a celebration with the students at HS schools. It was a great time where students had fun with games and craft sessions. We conclude the visit with a Graduation Ceremony at Old HS School. This ceremony was graced by the village head, who encouraged the students to learn as much as they could from the school. Students were given gift packs, and we ended with a meal for every student and visitor.

Library for HS@Krobayriel

The heart desire of Teacher Ravy came to reality. It was Teacher Ravy who wanted a library for Krobayriel so that students could visit anytime to browse and read books. Thanks to KJ, who lugged a suitcase of books to start the library.

Meals for Remote Government School

Thanks to Allan, students were able to have a meal. These students were very much neglected by NGOs and the government, as the school lies almost 200km from the town.

Meals for remote government school.

Many thanks to Allan who gave some money so that these kids in the "forgotten" government school were able to enjoy a simple meal which is a luxury to them.

New lights for New HS

It was getting darker in the new HS where Teacher Phear was conducting his classes. Finances were provided for them to but the wiring, lights, etc. Now they can have their classes in a brighter environment

Instant Noodles for remote government School

Once again, thanks to Allan's donation, each student were able to receive 5 packet of instant noodles.

A simple birthday celebration.

Teacher Thon had a simple celebration for one of his student. Nothing lavish, just a cake, some chicken wings and a bottle of coke. It was his gesture of appreciation to this students who had help him in events.

Water Tank for village government school

Classes at Hope School (Krobayriel)

Classes at Hope School (Krobayreil) had blossom since it was started slightly more than a year. Thanks to the dedication of Teacher Ravy, the school is now a blessing to the village. This school is also a venue for kids to have wholesome games.

Simple Refreshments for students

Students at Old Hope School enjoying a simple refreshment of brad spread with condensed milk. Not lavish but the students still enjoyed this refreshment provided. Thank you Teacher Thon and Bro Arun for serving and blessing these students.

Teaching student a skill

Teacher Davan was a skilled craftsman in making costume jewelry. Now he is imparting his skills to some of his students so that they too can be skillful and be able to make a living in the future. Thank you Teacher Davan for taking the extra time to teach these students.

SaNa Assisting Teacher Thon

One of the potential student for our coming scholarship assisting Teacher Thon in his teaching. This is one of our desire to see students coming back to assist in Hope School. We look forward for more such assistance. (Update : due to financial problem at her home, she decided to defer her studies at the Uni)

Rainy Season

Rainy Season started! Many areas were flooded. Old Hope School was not spared and as usual, the school was flooded but yet students were keen to attend. Thankful that Teacher Thon’s room, though flooded, he can still sleep on a dry bed as we had just renovated his room.

A New Name

Hope School will now be renamed as HS School Cambodia. As we need to register with various ministries in Cambodia, we were told we are not able to use the word Hope so we decided to call it HS (short for Hope School) School Cambodia. Hence for for any official correspondence, we will be using HS School.

Rainy Season affecting students' homes

When it rains, it rains cat and dogs! Many of our students' home around Hope School (Ron Ta Ek) had been flooded. We thank God that Hope School was spared. To protect Hope School, we decided to cement the floor and build up the walls at Hope School.

Hope School Welcome Pastor David & Team

We were glad that Pastor David and his team from Faith AG Singapore were able to visit Hope School. They had also kindly brought along a luggage of clothing for our students. Thank you Pastor David.

Meals for outskirt government school

Though it was not our school but we never shy away from any cries for assistance. This governments school never had any assistance from NGO or other community. So when they ask for a little help, Allan gave generously so that they can have a simple meal. Thanks Allan.

We are glad that students are so keen to attend the classes at Hope School even though it had started only months ago. Thanks to Teacher Davan's enthusiasm and friendly characters, he had managed to draw many students to this school. Good job Teacher Davan!

Computer Class

Thanks to Yong Sak donation of these computers so that the computer class can commenced. It had been very long since computer classes were conducted due to COVIT-19 and the old donated computers ha reached the end of their life.

A new room for Teacher Thon

Thankful to Foo and Allan who gave to help us built a new rom for Teacher Thon. His room was first erected more than 10 years ago and now it is leaking all over. With a new roof, he can now have a better sleep especially during rainy season.

Teachers' meeting

Principal Arun meet with the teachers regularly to update and encourage the teachers. It was a show of solidary spirit when the teachers meet at Hope School (Ron Ta Ek) which is a faraway Hope School.

Time for Assessment!

Older students at Old Hope School had an assessment conducted by Teacher Thon. It was to help the students to know how much they had progress since joining Hope School.

Celebration!!!!

Jun had been an exciting month. We had volunteers visiting all the 4 schools and thereafter had our 10th Anniversary celebration. It had been a long journey but with God's grace we were not only able to sustain the schools but had expanded to 4 schools now. Volunteers such as Yong Sak and his and Jun Han, KJ, Nancy and Allan, they bring so much joy an laughers to the classes. Thanks to donors like Baokuang, Peleus, Stephen, and Prescillia, we were able to give a decent gift such as drawstring bags, pencils, sharpeners, exercise books, cake, instant noodles and meal packs to everyone. Looking for more great 10 years ahead.

New fans & water pump for Hope School (Ron Ta Ek)

Thanks to Allan Tan's donation, Hope School (Ron Ta Ek) had new fans which really give them some comfort in these hot and humid season. It was not easy to learn under such humid condition but now at least there are winds which provide relief for these hot days.

Again thanks to Allan Tan who donated money to buy a water pump and the construction of this pumping station. Now they can have water whenever they need. Not easy to have clean water in such environment.

New Tables and Chairs for Hope School (Krobayriel)

Since Hope School (Krobayriel) started, they had been using borrowed tables and chairs. Some of them are now in a bad conditions and Teacher Ravy had requested to buy new tables and chairs. Thanks to Prescillia's donation, we were able to buy 6 sets of tables of chairs and students are now having proper seats to attend the classes.

Meals for students

A simple meal consisting of a piece of chicken and plain rice is enough to bring a smile to many students at Hope School (Ron Ta Ek). Glad that the kids can have at least a decent meal.

Aids for Hope School (Ron Ta Ek)

As the villagers at Ron Ta Ek are from the previous Poor Communities, they are one of those that are badly hit with no jobs, no monies, not much assistance from the government. Thanks to Allan who donated so that 50 families could have a bag of 10kg of rice. It may not be much for us but it is a lot for these villagers. Thanks Allan!
