Volunteers' Testimonies - HOPE SCHOOL

Volunteers' Testimonies

Every time a trip to Hope School is made, both the school and the volunteers are changed irreversibly. Here are some of the volunteers' testimonies.

Regina's Ong Testimony:
Really a humbling experience, especially so when we are teachers ourselves. The environment the kids study in, the facilities, the resources are all so basic; yet the kids put in their best to learn, without any complaints.

Tay Riyin's Testimony:
The Chinese saying of ‘活到老, 学到老’ definitely applies to the students of Hope School.

Sofia Goh's Testimony:
Passion. It is something so beautiful and powerful at the same time, almost like a fuel for anything at all.

Charlyn Chu's Testimony:
This was my first time teaching a classroom full of students, and even though I felt so incompetent to teach since I never liked teaching or was good with children, their quiet enthusiasm and eagerness to learn English changed me deeply.
