Rainy Season

With the rainy season here, Old Hope Sschool has been badly flooded again. For students’ safety, all classes are suspended and students are to remain at home until further notice.

A New Learning Centre

We are delighted to celebrate the opening of a new learning centre in Sihanouk village. This centre gives children in the community a safe and welcoming place to learn, develop their skills, and grow in confidence. It will provide new opportunities for education and help children build a brighter future for themselves and their village.

Meals for Sen Chay Government School

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” but a nourishing meal each week helps keep hunger away for students at Sen Chay Government School. Through Allan’s generous donation, students at Sen Chay School and two other government schools were able to enjoy a decent and fulfilling meal. For many of these children, this regular meal is an important source of nourishment. The meal may be simple, but its impact is significant. We are deeply grateful to Allan and his generosity is making a meaningful difference in the health and education of children in these communities.

Meals for Hope Schools

Thanks to Allan’s continued donations, nutritious meals can be provided to students at all Hope Schools. Although these meals are simple and not a luxury, they are filling and provide the nourishment children need to stay healthy. Allan’s generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many students and supports their education and well-being.

Activities at Hope Schools

Our teachers are regularly supported through Foo Yong Kwong’s monthly contributions. This generous support helps us support part of our teachers monthly salary. Despite their salary not matching those offered in the education sector, the teachers make many personal sacrifices to educate, encourage, and guide the children in our schools. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Foo Yong Kwong for this faithful support.

Fun At New HS

Teacher Sophea has always been innovative in managing New Hope School. At times, she plans games instead of conducting a regular lesson, making learning enjoyable and encouraging students to look forward to coming to school.

New tables, Chairs an Fans!!!

Our 3rd Hope School at Poor Community village now had tables for the students to study. The students had been bending down doing their studies on the floor. Not only tables but ceiling fans were also installed to give them a little comfort. If you had been to the school, you will understand how hot it is inside this small room crowded with students eager to learn.

Reaching out to those in needs!

Our heartfelt thanks to friends, strangers & relatives who donate without we asking. Through donors such as Jacquelyn, KJ Wong, Goh SL, Foo YK, Marcia, Allan, and many others, we were able to provide a simple and decent meal to villagers and students of Hope schools.
Without such outpouring support, we will be limited in our resources to provide such meals. Once again on behalf of the students of Hope Schools and villagers in Siem Reap, “Many Thanks!!!”

More on the 4th Hope School

The 4th Hope School classes were conducted under just a large bulb in the open. It’s a school with no walls or roof. Hopefully in days to come, we can find a room or house provided by the local village to conduct classes. Am glad to see so many interested children wanting to learn English. Some were even seated on a floor mat!

Continue Giving

As donor gives, we disbursed every cents. This is the promise we made for every donation received. When a faraway outskirt school's teachers cried for some help due to the pandemic, Arun sprang into action. He travelled for more than 3 hours to reach them so that they could received some aids. It was a long journey but the smile from the teachers and students made up for such a tedious journey.

4th Hope School

A school without walls and roof! Our 4th Hope School, which is called Hope School-Krobayiel.

It was in one of our giving basic essentials to families affected by the pandemic at Krobayriel village, 10km from the town of Siem Reap, that the parents requested us to start a school conducting English.

Thankfully there was Mr. Ravy, who had just returned back from Phnom Penh to take care of his mother, who volunteered to do the teaching. We will provide the financial support to run this school. Bro Arun assists to start the class sourcing for tables, chairs and whiteboard. So 2 classes, from 5 to 6pm and 6 to 7pm, Mon to Friday, was started in an open area for 42 kids who were keen on learning.

Starting the year with a bang!!!

We started the year by bringing joy and cheers to a nearby villages instead of a New Year party at Hope School. Thanks to Baokuang and his friend Kisajojo who gave to have this event. With some remainder, we used it to by stationaries for our students at Hope Schools.

We had not forgotten our teachers. Thanks to Prescillia who donated money to buy mattress, bedsheets and pillows for our teachers. For almost 8 over years, all they had was a rattan mat for them to sleep in the night. Hopefully not they could have a good rest after a hard day of teaching.

A very special month!

It had been a very special month. I, for one, am not a person who asks for donations but friends, relatives, ex-colleagues and even people I do not know, somehow just drop me messages that they are donating to help the badly affected by the pandemic in Siem Reap.

Many thanks to all of them, Marcia, Marcia's children, Tina Yong, the late Poon Ah Lean, Charlotte, Felicia, Haze, Yvonne, Mrs Ip, Julia, and Jac Yin (On behalf of her late mother Jessie). With these donations, we are able to provide basic essentials for many families spanning for 3 months.

My sincere thanks to all!!!

Teachers Vaccinated!

We were glad that all our teachers had been vaccinated. They had been travelling to quite a few villagers to distribute basic essentials, masks, lunch boxes etc and were in danger of being infected with the virus. Thankfully, they are all now vaccinated.
