Rainy Season

With the rainy season here, Old Hope Sschool has been badly flooded again. For students’ safety, all classes are suspended and students are to remain at home until further notice.

A New Learning Centre

We are delighted to celebrate the opening of a new learning centre in Sihanouk village. This centre gives children in the community a safe and welcoming place to learn, develop their skills, and grow in confidence. It will provide new opportunities for education and help children build a brighter future for themselves and their village.

Meals for Sen Chay Government School

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” but a nourishing meal each week helps keep hunger away for students at Sen Chay Government School. Through Allan’s generous donation, students at Sen Chay School and two other government schools were able to enjoy a decent and fulfilling meal. For many of these children, this regular meal is an important source of nourishment. The meal may be simple, but its impact is significant. We are deeply grateful to Allan and his generosity is making a meaningful difference in the health and education of children in these communities.

Meals for Hope Schools

Thanks to Allan’s continued donations, nutritious meals can be provided to students at all Hope Schools. Although these meals are simple and not a luxury, they are filling and provide the nourishment children need to stay healthy. Allan’s generosity makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many students and supports their education and well-being.

Activities at Hope Schools

Our teachers are regularly supported through Foo Yong Kwong’s monthly contributions. This generous support helps us support part of our teachers monthly salary. Despite their salary not matching those offered in the education sector, the teachers make many personal sacrifices to educate, encourage, and guide the children in our schools. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Foo Yong Kwong for this faithful support.

Fun At New HS

Teacher Sophea has always been innovative in managing New Hope School. At times, she plans games instead of conducting a regular lesson, making learning enjoyable and encouraging students to look forward to coming to school.

Giving, giving, giving

It was a month of special delivery to assist the villagers who were badly affected by the pandemic. Many were without jobs and were unable to provide even a single meal for their families. We pray that what we provide will at a little relief from their hardship.

Thank you to all who had donated for us to buy the basic essentials for these villagers and our students

Continuing the blessing of distributions.

Continuing our effort to support the badly hit villagers. Arun, Teacher Phear and Teacher Davan went to few villages to distribute basic essentials to them. The villagers were grateful to Singaporeans who had donated some monies for us to buy the essentials for them.

You can see their happiness in their faces on receiving these essentials. Thank you all who had given generously even though we had never even asked for any donations.

COVIT-19 in full blast @ Siem Reap

The pandemic is getting out of control. The government not only instructed all schools to close but also implement lockdown. Before the full lock down was implemented, we were able to send 4 rounds of relief to many hard hit communities and to ours students. Many thanks to Allan and Jacquelyn (on behalf of her late mother, Jessie Chu) for the contribution which allows us to send these reliefs to the villagers

Thankful for the meals!

The 3rd wave of COVIT-19 sweeps into Siem Reap in March. Classes are ongoing as we await instruction from the government. Praying that we can continue as long as possible as the pandemic had wreaked havoc to the classes. The classes in Hope Schools is also a means for us to give some refreshments to the kids who do not have much to fill their stomach.

Thanks to the like of Allan and Foo YK who gave generously and we can provide extra and better refreshments to our students!

A New Trailer

With love, Hope School acquired a new trailer from Jamie’s beloved late mother and my wonderful late sister Mdm Jessie Chu.

Our old trailer was in a very bad shape and we really needed a new trailer. Students from both Old and New Hope School can now take a safe and sheltered ride to the schools.

Generosity of friends

Thankful for the generosity of our many friends. We had Mr Foo YK who came onboard to provide us with monthly support when other donors need to stop due to many reasons (we are always grateful to all donors) and then Mr Allan who felt that the children of the Poor Community needed to be provided with additional refreshments and some stationeries.

Bringing joy to kids in Hope Schools.

2020 was a year when we see many lives were turned upside down. The pandemic affects everyone, regardless of where you are. Our students and their families in Siem Reap were very badly affected as they had been enjoying much of their income from tourism.

To end the year and to bring some cheers to our students, we decided to have a Christmas Party at all 3 schools. Many thanks to friend who donated to this parties.

Classes commenced but we heard that the Government will reimpose the order to have school closed for 2 weeks beginning Dec. Hope Schools had been much bless with many friend chippings in to ensure that students are taken well care of. We had provided as much as we can to give our students and their families some basic essentials to tie them through these hard times.

We did not forget the well deserving teachers from some government schools. They are not paid highly and they also faced difficulties during this pandemic

Thank you all who had contributed to this giving.
